Our Team

Barry is CEO of Hart & Hart Financial Services. He started his career in 1985 as the second generation of the Hart family to work in our business.  Barry earned his Bachelors degree from Georgia Southern University and attended graduate school at the University of Florida.  Barry is dedicated to his clients, family and community.  Education has always been important to Barry, and he has earned many acclaimed designations in the financial services business, most notably the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. He also taught the life insurance, health insurance and annuity classes in Sarasota for many years.  His civic work is never ending.  When his children were young, he was always helping coach teams, lead troops on camping trips, and he taught parenting classes at Child Protection Center.  He is currently on the finance committee for Shriners of Florida.  Barry attributes his success to always learning, telling the truth and being there for his clients when they need him the most. 

Jakob Hart is President of Hart & Hart Financial Services, a third-generation financial planning firm and New York Life agency. Jakob began his journey with the family business in 2007 and joined New York Life in 2013. 

Jakob was born in Sarasota, FL.  He attended college at Manatee Community College, the University of South Florida, and The American College of Financial Services.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Finance, the Retirement Income Certified Professional designation, and he is enrolled in the Certified Financial Planner designation program. 

After graduating from college, Jakob spent 71 days hiking the Appalachian Trail from Pawling, New York to Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Along his 742-mile journey, he learned a that setting goals, creating a plan, and tracking progress can keep you focused and help you go as far as you want in life!

Jakob met his wife Andrea while working in a restaurant together.  They got married in 2014, and have have two children, Piper and James.  They have two dogs, Oliver and Tonka.  Jakob and his family enjoy traveling, cooking and just about anything outdoors like going to the beach, camping, hiking, fishing, golf, ultimate frisbee, and hunting.

Jakob currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Suncoast School for Innovative Studies, the Endowment Fund Committee for the Shahib Shiners, Sarasota's Shriners Club, and the Agent's Advisory Committee for New York Life Tampa General Office. He is also the Vice President of Business by the Bay, a local BNI chapter.  He is a member of Sertoma Kids of Greater Sarasota, Sarasota Free Mason Lodge #147, and Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group.  His past positions include; Finance Committee for Sahib Shiners-2021, Board of directors for National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Gulf Coast Chapter-2019, Secretary of Business by the Bay-2018, President of Business by the Bay-2016, Vice President of Business by the Bay-2014.
